Andrew Cassel has spent the past two years developing and implementing the University of Alaska Fairbanks social media plan. He has also led development workshops with different departments on campus to help other improve their social media presence, and has been in charge of all multimedia content at UAF since the spring of 2011. Before coming to UAF, Cassel worked as a reporter and anchor for local television news agencies.
As 2013 begins, sharing content on Facebook and Twitter is firmly entrenched in the communications and marketing plans of institutions of higher education. But there is another platform, potentially a more creative environment, where content goes to thrive. That place is Tumblr.
