The Higher Education Web Professionals Association (HighEdWeb) is pleased to welcome three new members to its Board of Directors:
Jesse Lavery
Director of Web Communications, Allegheny College
Jesse Lavery is director of web communications at Allegheny College, a national liberal arts college of 2,100 students in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Lavery’s office is responsible for the design, development, and content strategy of the Allegheny family of websites. He also chairs a cross-divisional social media team to manage the institution’s social media efforts. In addition, Lavery has served in a number of campus-wide leadership roles including current service on the campaign cabinet, admissions senior staff, communications leadership team and bicentennial committee.
Lavery is a five-time HighEdWeb conference presenter and has served on a regional conference committee in 2013.
Kerri Hicks
Web Manager, Brown University Library
A higher education web professional since 1996, Kerri Hicks is the web manager at the Brown University Library, where she leads a team responsible for web content and technical web management. She holds a master’s of library and information science from the University of Rhode Island, where she was the manager of web communications for six years, and a bachelor’s degree in English from Colby College. Before becoming a manager, Hicks was a web programmer, accessibility consultant and journalist.
Hicks has been a presenter at the HighEdWeb annual conference and has served on the planning committee for the organization’s New England regional conferences in 2013 and 2014.
Glenn E. Donaldson Jr.
Director of Application Architecture, The Ohio State University
Glenn E. Donaldson Jr. has 22+ years in technology/higher education, and he has been with The Ohio State University since 1994. As director, application architecture at OSU he is responsible for the establishment and adherence to the architectural practices and principles, specialty application, in the office of the chief information officer. He also serves as a leader of application architecture functions across the University, and he and his team provide leadership for integration/service-oriented architecture solutions, practices and processes. Donaldson has a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, an MBA and several industry certifications including TOGAF and ITIL.
Donaldson has served as a WebDevShare and HighEdWeb track chair/program committee member since 2002, served as a founding member of the HighEdWeb Crowd Source Summit, and he has remained actively involved in other aspects of HighEdWeb.
About the Board of Directors
The HighEdWeb Board of Directors is the governing body of the Association, working to create and manage policy, coordinate business issues, and manage the growth and prosperity of HighEdWeb. The Board meets monthly to discuss updates and issues, and works to lead various Association initiatives year-round.
