Meet HighEdWeb’s New President: Aaron Knight

Aaron Knight, associate director of web services for the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, became HighEdWeb’s president in November and will serve in this role until May 31.

Knight joined the HighEdWeb community in 2009. He previously served as vice president and has been a board member since 2018. He said he looks forward to building upon his predecessors’ work to strengthen HighEdWeb’s mission of educating digital professionals in higher education.

The pandemic in some ways has shown us that we play an even more important role in building the success of our campuses and that collective community in this profession.

HighEdWeb can help so many of us, scattered throughout pockets of institutions small and large alike, build support networks, get advice and better our respective institutions in ways most industries can only dream of. I’m proud of where we’ve come from and excited for what’s yet to come.

Previous president, Nikki Massaro Kauffman, accepted a job opportunity outside of higher education at Red Hat, making her ineligible to serve as an officer. She will continue serving as a board member until her term ends.
