Announcing new leadership at HighEdWeb

HighEdWeb is pleased to announce our newly-elected Board of Directors officers and members. The board works to create and manage policy, coordinate business issues, and manage the growth and prosperity of the association.

New Board of Directors Officers

Tom WojciechowskiPresident Tom Wojciechowski

Tom Wojciechowski of Daemen College, Buffalo, N.Y. has served on the Board of Directors since 2015 and supported HighEdWeb in a number of different roles including the Annual Conference vice chair in 2013 and 2017, Annual Conference chair in 2015, association Secretary, and most recently, the association Vice President.

Glenn DonaldsonVice President Glenn Donaldson

Glenn E. Donaldson of Ohio State University has served on the Board of Directors since 2015. He has been a highly active member of HighEdWeb since 2002. He has been involved by presenting numerous sessions throughout the years, serving on committees, and is currently serving as the 2019 Annual Conference Chair.

Kerri HicksSecretary Kerri Hicks

Kerri Hicks of Brown University Library has served on the Board of Directors since 2015. She has been a presenter at the HighEdWeb annual conference and has served on the planning committee for the organization’s New England regional conferences in 2013 and 2014.

Waylon R. Baumgardner of California Baptist University, elected in 2018, will continue to serve as Treasurer.

Jackie VetranoJackie Vetrano

Jackie Vetrano is the Online Marketing and Social Media Manager at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is part of the team that produces and hosts Carolina’s Well Said podcast, which was recently awarded Gold in the 34th annual Educational Advertising Awards. Among other honors, Jackie was named a 2019 Mover and Shaker in the Innovation category by The Social Shake-Up as well as in the top 50 higher education marketing experts to follow by Pickle Jar Communications.

Jackie has served in several capacities since entering the field in 2013, including as a Link staff member and contributor, presenter at both the regional and national level, and on the conference programming committee since 2018.

Robin SmailRobin Smail

Robin Smail is a User Experience Designer at Penn State University. At Penn State, Robin conceptualizes user interfaces for application development and proof of concept prototypes, advocates for accessibility and universal design, and leads content strategy and branding efforts on university-wide initiatives.

Robin has been a member of the association for 10 years. She holds the Red Stapler Award for Best in (TIE) Track 2013, served for 8 years on the Program Committee, and has served as a Track Chair from 2009 to 2019.

Ben RapinBen Rapin

Ben Rapin is the Associate Director of Administrative Systems at Grand Valley State University (GSVU). Ben leads a team responsible for application development and management of the Banner ERP system. While at GVSU Ben has been involved with university marketing and communications efforts, development of custom admission applications, streaming of live events, web accessibility coordination, and custom web application and database development.

Ben has held several volunteer roles since attending his first Annual Conference in 2009. Ben has helped organize regional conferences in Michigan, served on the Sponsorship Committee, and served as Conference Chair for the 2018 Annual Conference in Sacramento.


About the Board of Directors

The Officers of HighEdWeb are elected from the HighEdWeb Board of Directors, the governing body of the association. The board works to create and manage policy, coordinate business issues, and manage the growth and prosperity of HighEdWeb. The board meets monthly to discuss updates and issues and works to lead various association initiatives year-round.
