#Heweb12: All Sold Out

The Association is very pleased to announce that our annual conference, HighEdWeb 2012, has SOLD OUT. That’s right, not a seat remains — more than 600 higher ed Web pros have booked their schedules to invade Milwaukee, WI, in October for fun, networking and some of THE best professional development around. We’re thrilled that so many folks want to join us to build this amazing experience; we can’t wait to see you all.

Of course, we know that there are a number of colleagues who were unable to register before the conference filled up. If you’re still interested in attending #heweb12, please add yourself to our conference waiting list.

We’ll keep you posted if seats become available.

I'm going to the HighEdWeb 2012 Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, October 7-10 Are you going to #heweb12? Spread the word: Download a badge for your website or add a Twibbon to your profile image.

#Heweb12: Bloggers Wanted

Hey you. Yes, you. Over there, with the iPad and Macbook open, firing off updates to every piece of social media imaginable while photobombing that couple at the Internet cafe. Do you like to write? Of course you do. Want to use that talent to help Link provide wall-to-wall coverage of HighEdWeb 12?

We’re looking for bloggers to help us provide updates and recaps of conference sessions. We’re shooting to have a blog post for every session at this year’s conference. You can see what we did last year, if you’d like some idea of what you might be getting yourself into. Questions? Interest? Contact Dave Tyler or Laura Kenyon.

A Report on Regionals

HighEdWeb wants to take a moment to thank everyone who made the 2012 regional conferences — #hewebSYR (in Syracuse, NY) and #hewebAR (in Little Rock, AR) such a great success. We’d particularly like to acknowledge the great work of the organizing committees:

SYRACUSE: J.D. Ross (chair), Aaron Knight, Katie Lemanczyk, Tim Nekritz, Lori Packer, Michelle Tarby

ARKANSAS: Shelley Keith (co-chair), Tonya Oaks Smith (co-chair), Aaron Baker, Daniel Spillers, Carrie Harris Phillips, Brent Passmore, Todd Reed

These one- and two-day events are great ways to get excellent professional development right in your own geographic “backyard,” as it were, so keep your eyes open as we plan more for 2013. And if you think you might be interested in hosting a HighEdWeb regional in your area, let us know.

Belonging

The Association has been taking in feedback and working on some new exciting things to be announced at the HighEdWeb 2012 conference. In particular we’ll have an update on formal Higher Education Web Professionals Association membership, so stay tuned!
